- Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) In an October 2018 update, Microsoft moved all of the Active Directory administration tools to a ‘feature on demand’ called RSAT. Attackers use whatever they can for privilege escalations and exfiltration. They don’t need RSAT to do major damage to your network, but it sure makes it easier!
- RSAT enables System and Network Administrators to run snap-ins and tools on remote servers, thereby managing roles and role services and can also be used to manage Group Policy, Hyper-V etc. RSAT “can be installed ONLY on computers that are running the full release of Windows 10 Professional, Windows 10 Enterprise, or Windows 10 Education.”.
Rsat Tools Upgrade To 2 The below is still valid if you are searching a single server. Being able to search on MAC address across all DHCP scopes comes in handy. The only difference being with the RSAT tools you need to add the DHCP server name via the -ComputerName switch.
