For the purposes of this article, we classified a product as free if:

  • It offers a free version that can function independently
  • It’s not a trial version of the solution and doesn’t require a paid version to be purchased after a certain period.

Open source

To be listed as an open source product in this article, the product needs to have its source code accessible to all to use and modify. The source code must be compatible with Windows, Mac, or Linux operating system and must have been updated (fully or partly) in the last one year.

Selection criteria

The products that fulfilled the criteria mentioned above were then evaluated against our fleet management definition—Fleet management software helps users track, coordinate and manage work vehicles, assets and inventory, and it helps to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
